Want to save that cool video you saw on Facebook? Here is how to do just that.
The thing with saving videos from Facebook is that Facebook does not like it. They want you to come back anytime you want to re-watch that new favorite video.
But as usual, I will show you a way to quickly download a video from facebook. Continue below:
Note: I’m using a Windows computer to do this. A Mac should work well too.
I’m sure you have noticed there’s no real save / download buttons on videos on facebook.
We’ll be using a special browser add-on in this tutorial.
An add on is a piece of code that improves the functionality of an existing software.
How to Download and Save a Video from Facebook
Here is what I’m using:
- Download Facebook Video or Photo
- Chrome browser
Step 1: Download and install chrome on your machine.
Step 2: Go to the Chrome extension store and install addon (direct link here)
Step 3: Once you successfully install the add on. An icon should appear on your icon menu.
The icon looks like this.
Step 4: Now navigate to the facebook video you want to download.
Step 5: Once you see the video, Hold the CTRL key and Click on the Video image.
This will load the video url in a new tab.
Step 6: In the new tab. Click the play button. Once the Video starts playing. Hit the Pause button.
Now look at the top right hand side of your browser and click on the download Facebook Video Icon (see image is step 3 above)
Step 7: Click on the Download Icon. A new tab should open up with a download button.
Hit that red Download HD Video button. Your download should begin within a few seconds.
That’s it. Once the download is finished. That video will be available to you eternally.
No Internet access is required to access the video again.
You could also share this Video with your friends and family
